Based on the Ulises Carrión manifesto: El arte nuevo de hacer libros, where the artist explores the concept of book and establishes comparisons between the “old book” and the “new”, Sad Dark — Happy Bright is a humorous narrative representative of one of the ideals defended in the manifesto itself, where the color black is associated with the past, and total white is an element allied to “the new art of making books”. From this concept a narrative was then developed, whose story takes us from total darkness to absolute clarity, without predictable events and conclusion, since it is a project reflective of a manifesto that suggests a total rupture with the traditional past.
